2021: Competed once on the season, at the season opening UW Indoor Preview … threw 35-10 ½ in the shot put and 39-5 ¾ in the weight throw.
High School and Personal: Born in Farmington, New Mexico … parents are Kathy and Chris Herrera … has two older brothers, Alex and Nicholas, and one younger sister, Makayla … mother played basketball at Colorado Mesa and Central Florida colleges … brother Alex played basketball at Fort Lewis College and plays professionally in Europe … attended high school for two years at Ignacio High School in Colorado before transferring to La Conner High School for her final two years … only started competing in track her junior year, and only got one season of competition as 2020 was canceled due to Covid-19 pandemic … fourth at the Washington 2B state championships in the shot put in her one season of competition, and also ran on the 4x200m relay team at state … an all-around athlete who was all-conference and all-state in both basketball and volleyball in Colorado and Washington … helped La Conner volleyball team win the (2B) 2018 and 2019 state titles … a 2019 Washington Interscholastic Athletics Association Athlete of the Week.
