Moll Twins Tie For Sixth At World Championships
September 17, 2025 | Track & Field
TOKYO – The incredible, record-shattering 2025 seasons for Hana and Amanda Moll, which started back in January, wrapped up today in Tokyo with matching top-10 finishes at the World Athletics Championships. The rising Husky junior pole vaulters fittingly finished in a tie in the World Outdoor finals, as both finished in sixth-place repping Team USA.
This was the second-straight World Championships final for Hana and the first for Amanda, and thus their first senior level global final competing together. The pair of NCAA Champions both made 15-feet, 3-inches today at the National Stadium in front of approximately 50,000 fans.
Hana and Amanda both went over the opening height of 14-7 1/4 on their first attempts to overcome any opening bar jitters. The second height jumped all the way up to 15-3, and Hana and Amanda both had misses on their first attempts, but went clear with ease on their second attempts.
Neither Husky was able to find their footing at the third bar, which was 15-7. Hana had very close attempts on her first and third tries but brushed the bar just enough to knock it off. Only four women made that bar today.
It wasn't just the Molls in action today from a Husky perspective. Former Husky Gianna Woodruff, a 2015 graduate, continued her amazing career representing Panama, as she won her 400-meter hurdles semifinal in 52.66 to advance to a second career Worlds final. Woodruff had never broken 53-seconds before but went well under today with the second-fastest overall time in the semis. It is a new Area Record for all of South America. She will race in the final on Friday at 5:27 a.m. Pacific time.
