High School and Personal: Born in Everett, Washington … parents are Cherlyn and Kay Schander … has one older brother, Paul … mother played softball in college at Pacific University … missed out on senior track season due to Covid pandemic … as a junior in 2019, took fifth at the 3A state championships in the discus … improved her discus PR by more than 30 feet between sophomore and junior seasons … played multiple sports in high school, playing volleyball, basketball, and wrestling for two years … took third at state in wrestling and was team captain … recipient of WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award … a member of Future Farmers of America.
