
Washington Travels To Arizona To Play Grand Canyon

SEATTLE -- The No. 13 University of Washington women's basketball team (6-1) wraps up its three-game road trip this week, traveling to Phoenix, Ariz. to play Grand Canyon University on Thursday (Dec. 1). The game will be streamed on WAC Digital Network with radio coverage on gohuskies.leanplayer.com.
After going 3-0 last week, Washington moved up two more spots to No. 13 in the latest AP Top 25 poll. The Huskies were ranked No. 17 to start the season. Four other Pac-12 teams are also ranked: UCLA at No. 10, Stanford at No. 11, Colorado at No. 21 and Oregon State at No. 24. In the USA Today Coaches Poll, the Huskies are also ranked No. 13.
Washington is leading the nation in several categories including 87 made three-pointers this season. The Huskies are 87-of-208 from three-point range, hitting at a .418 clip. The UW's 12.4 three-pointers per game ranks second while the team's 88.9 points per game is sixth-most in the NCAA.
Seniors Kelsey Plum and Chantel Osahor are leading the NCAA in points per game (29.9) and rebounds per game (14.0), respectively. Osahor's six double-doubles this season also tops the NCAA. The pair were both named to the 2017 Naismith Watchlist on Wednesday (Nov. 30).

This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
SCOUTING GRAND CANYON
Grand Canyon is 3-3 this season, beating Alcorn State (77-44), Denver (73-70) and Idaho (64-60). The Lopes' losses were to Duke (90-47), Rice (64-50) and UC Riverside (77-64).
GCU has three players currently scoring in double figures, led by Marina Laramie (18.3), Jessica Gajewski (12.5) and Casey Rarrick (11.5). Zelor Massaquoi leads the team with 9.2 rebounds per game, followed by Laramie's 7.3.
Grand Canyon welcomed eight newcomers, including six transfers. With the addition of fifth-year transfers Aniya Baker, Marina Laramie, Erika Thomas and Laura Marcos-Canedo. Brie Mobley, a junior transfer from UNC Wilmington was also added to the team.
