
Goals From Connor Lofy And Zach Ramsey Lead Huskies To Fifth Straight Win

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. βΒ The Huskies earned their fifth straight win on Monday night, taking down Penn State 2-1 on the road.Β

The Dawgs improve to 9-3-2, including a 6-1 mark in the Big Ten. Washington stands alone at the top of the Big Ten standings with 18 points, one ahead of Maryland at 17.

Washington used its same approach, early and often offense, to take down the Nittany Lions. The first 45 minutes were completely dominated by the Huskies with 12 shots and two goals for the visitors against only two attempts for Penn State.

Washington got on the board in the 26thΒ minute when Joe Dale controlled a cross at the top of the box and laid it off for Connor Lofy. The midfielder struck it cleanly and pinned the top right corner of the goal to send the Huskies in front.

It was Lofy's second goal of the season and the second assist of the year for Dale.

Eight minutes later, the Huskies doubled the lead. Joe Dale was credited with an assist in the buildup to Charlie Kosakoff, who sent a cross in the air to Zach Ramsey in the box.

Ramsey caught the ball on the volley and rocketed it into the net for the second goal of the game. Ramsey now has six strikes on the year to lead the team while Dale and Kosakoff each earned their third assists of the season.

The Huskies maintained the 2-0 advantage into the halftime break, but the Nittany Lions grew into the game in the second half.

Each team fired off 10 shots in the second 45 while Penn State recorded seven corner kicks during the second half. The Nittany Lions pulled one goal back in the 76thΒ minute on a penalty kick goal.
