2022: Competed in the NCAA West Prelims once again in the shot put and finished ninth at the Pac-12 Championships โฆ at NCAA Prelims in Arkansas, was 32nd overall in the shot put, throwing 57-9 ยฝ โฆ outdoor season-best of 59-5 ยพ came in a win at the Fresno State Invitational โฆ won the shot put at the UW-WSU Dual going 58-6 โฆ season-best hammer throw of 190-7 at the Beach Invitational โฆ indoors, took fifth at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite with a season-best put of 60-11 ยผ โฆ also went over 60-feet at the Pac-12 Invitational, going 60-5 ยผ โฆ named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team โฆ a Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll member.
2021: A Pac-12 scorer and NCAA West Prelims qualifier in his first full season, throwing the shot, discus, and hammer outdoors and the shot and weight indoors โฆ took seventh-place in the shot put at his first Pac-12 Championships with a best of 59-9 ยฝ โฆ at NCAA West Prelims, was just four spots away from advancing to nationals as he placed 16th with an outdoor PR of 61-2 ยพ good for No. 10 in school history โฆ had a hammer throw PR of 194-0 at the UW-WSU Dual for third, and was second in the shot put at 59-11 ยพ โฆ best discus throw of 162-3 at the West Coast Relays โฆ second in the shot put at the Jim Bush Legends Invite at 59-9 ยฝ, third in the hammer at 187-4, and fifth in the discus at 160-6 โฆ indoors, set the UW freshman record in the shot put in his first collegiate competition, going 62-10 ยพ โฆ that mark ranked 19th nationally and was the top mark by a freshman, and also was No. 5 in school history โฆ tossed 60-4 ยผ at the Husky Classic and had a weight throw season-best of 59-1 ยฝ โฆ made the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll โฆ named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

High School and Personal: Parents are Bradley and Melody Van Peursem โฆ the youngest of four siblings including Daniel, Gabrielle and Arielle โฆ father was a discus thrower for Western Washington and sister Arielle runs track and plays soccer at Whitworth โฆ captured the state 1A titles in both the discus and the shot put as a senior โฆ had a shot put PR of 64-6 at the district meet in 2019 that ranked him 14th nationally and tops in the state โฆ threw a discus PR to win state as a senior, going 181-2 โฆ also won the discus state title as a junior and was runner-up in the shot โฆ a two-time WIAA Athlete of the Week โฆ graduated with honors and a grade point average of 3.94.
