Second Straight Double Digit Scoring Game As Huskies Win 10-4

SEATTLE – No. 10 Washington (29-8, 10-5 Pac-12) earned the series sweep over Cal in a 10-4 victory on Saturday afternoon at Husky Softball Stadium.
Ruby Meylan got the start in the circle and earned her 14th win of the year after tossing 4.1 innings. All four pitchers saw time in the circle with Lindsay Lopez, Brooke Nelson and Kelley Lynch tossing the final frames to close out the game.
Back-to-back-to-back hits from SilentRain Espinoza, Rylee Holtorf and Sydney Stewart brought across the first run of the game. With bases loaded, Madison Huskey hit a two-run single for a three-run advantage after two.
Olivia Johnson drew a walk to load the bases with two outs, Kinsey Fiedler hit a double that went off the left field wall to drive in a pair of run to extend the Washington lead to five.
The Golden Bears made it a one run game after plating four runs in the fifth.
Washington answered right back in the bottom half of the inning, plating three runs to take a four run lead. The Huskies added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth for the 10-4 advantage. Lynch came in and recorded the final three outs to pick up the Huskies second conference sweep of the season.
Up next, the Huskies travel to Oregon State for a three-game series in Corvallis beginning on April 14. All three games are set to air on the Oregon State Live Stream.
