Huskies Walk-Off In Extras; Even Series Against Utah

Ruby Meylan picked up her team-leading 15th win of the season after tossing the final four frames. Kelley Lynch got the start for the Huskies while throwing five innings with seven strikeouts.
Utah took an early 2-0 advantage in the third.
Rylee Holtorf leadoff the bottom of the fourth with her second home run of the season to cut the Utes' lead to one. The Huskies continued to add on four more runs after capitalizing on a two-out error for the 5-2 advantage.
Utah answered right back with a pair of runs.
The game was sent into an hour rain delay in the bottom of the seventh. Despite having a runner on second with no outs, the Huskies were not able to bring a run across and the game was sent to extras.
With one out in the ninth, Klingler came up to bat and smashed her 11th home run of the season, and second of the series, for the 6-5 victory.
The series continues on Sunday with a 12 p.m. first pitch at Husky Softball Stadium. Postgame, the Huskies will honor their eight seniors: Jadelyn Allchin, SilentRain Espinoza, Madi Huskey, Baylee Klingler, Kelley Lynch, Brooke Nelson, Sami Reynolds and Megan Vandegrift.
