October 07, 2025 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLE - Harrison Bertos, Alex Hall, and Asher Hestad each claimed weekly awards after helping the Huskies to three straight shutout victories. Bertos headlined the group as the Top Drawer Soccer National Player of the Week while Alex Hall and Asher Hestad were named Big Ten Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
Bertos has been a defensive force for Washington in the last three matches, helping keep Wisconsin, Northwestern, and then-No. 12 Indiana from scoring a goal. Additionally, Bertos bagged the game-winning goal against Northwestern last Monday for his second game-winning goal this season.
Alex Hall has cemented himself as an offensive engine in the midfield, tallying at least one point in six of the last seven matches. Hall scored the game winner against Indiana before also setting up Charlie Kosakoff for the second goal of the game. It was Hall's second multi-point game and he now has six assists on the season, the second-best mark on the team.
Asher Hestad had the best game of his career so far against then-No. 12 Indiana. The sophomore defender put the game away by scoring his first goal to put Washington up 3-0. He also played a career-high 90 minutes while making his third ever start for the Huskies.
Washington is off from competition this week and returns to action on Friday, October 17 at Rutgers.
