Huskies Finish Second Day of Stanford Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. – The Washington women's golf team completed the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate today, sitting in 18th place with a team score of +14 for the round on the par-71 course. Despite a tough day overall, there were bright spots across the lineup as the team combined for seven birdies.
Mads Smith led the Huskies today, finishing the round at two-over to sit at +6 overall. Smith's lone birdie came on the back nine, helping her post Washington's low score of the day, placing 64th on the leaderboard.
Carmen Lim followed close behind in 70th, carding a two-over round with one birdie on the opening hole to score +7 overall.
Wendy Tang tallied a team-best four birdies on her route to a +4 round, sitting at nine-over for the tournament placing 83rd.
Competing as an individual, Athena Ni recorded one birdie but struggled through a few tough holes, ending the day +9 and standing at +10 overall.
Amber Li rounded out the Husky lineup with a +6 on the day, bringing her total to +14.
"We got off to a tough start on our first nine holes," said head coach Anna Temple. "From an attitude perspective we were able to keep coming back which was great but tomorrow we need to get off to a better start.
The Huskies will look to build on the positives from today's round and finish the Stanford Intercollegiate on a high note when play concludes tomorrow at the Stanford Golf Course.
