Summer Softball: Sis Bates With US Junior Women's National Team
July 06, 2017 | Softball
This summer eight former, current and future Huskies are representing six different teams across the world. Today we check in with infielder Sis Bates as she and the US Junior Women's National Team dive into their summer season at the World Cup of Softball XII.
Reflecting on the past month while playing with the JWNT I can honestly say that it has been such an incredible experience already! I have played against most of these gals this past year and finally being able to build relationships with them on and off the field has been so great! This experience has always been a dream of mine and it is everything that I hoped for and more.
So far, we went to OKC to train for a week and then we were able to go home for a couple of days to spend some time with our families and continue training at home. Following this, we headed to Boston and played two games against an All-Star team from that area. Our team has really grown as a unit throughout this past month! Now we are back in OKC, but this time, we are here for the World Cup! Ironically, we play Puerto Rico our first game (against Morganne and Taran)! The very next game is against Canada (against Jenn)! We are very excited to compete here in the World Cup and can't wait for the many more opportunities we have to play together!
