SEATTLE -- The World Cup of Softball XII in Oklahoma City, Okla., is just around the corner and six current and former Huskies will be vying for the gold medal.
Recent graduate, Ali Aguilar, is playing for the US Women's National Team for the second straight summer. Last summer Aguilar was on the Elite team and was called up to play with the National Team. During the 2016 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women's World Softball Championship, Aguilar went 2 for 3 and drove in the game's first run in the first inning as the USA Women's National Team jumped out to a 4-0 lead and downed Japan, 7-3, in the gold medal game.
Incoming sophomore, Sis Bates, will represent the United States on the Junior Women's National Team.
Washington's battery unit, Taran Alvelo and Morganne Flores, will be playing with the Puerto Rican National Team.
Former Husky greats, Jenn Salling and Victoria Hayward will represent Canada. Salling began her career with the Canadian Women's National Team in 2006.
