
No. 9 Washington Downs Oregon On The Road, 99-77

EUGENE, Ore. -- Senior Kelsey Plum poured in 44 points and fellow senior Chantel Osahor was one assist shy of a triple-double as the No. 9 University of Washington women's basketball team rolled past Oregon, 99-77, in Eugene on Friday (Dec. 30). The Huskies have now won 11-straight and improve to 2-0 in Pac-12 play.
Plum scored 22 points in each half to tally 44, one shy of her career-high. This was the third game this season the nation's leading scorer recorded 44. She was 14-of-23 from the floor, 13-of-15 from the foul line and 3-of-7 from behind the arc. Plum was also the team's second leading rebounder with five boards while also dishing out four assists.
Osahor registered her 12th double-double of the season, which leads the NCAA, and was just one assist shy of her second triple-double. The Phoenix, Ariz. native tallied 18 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists.
Junior Heather Corral registered a career-high 19 points to round out the Huskies' double-digit scoring efforts. Corral was a perfect 5-of-5 from three-point range, knocking down four in the first quarter alone to help give Washington a 25-21 lead after the first frame.
Senior Katie Collier added eight points while sophomore Hannah Johnson came off the bench to score six points and grabbed four boards in 20 minutes of action.
For the 11th time this season, Washington recorded double-digit three-pointers, knocking down 10-of-21 from behind the arc. The Huskies' 175 made threes leads the nation.
Washington hit back-to-back-to-back triples to open the game to take an early 9-2 lead just over a minute in. Trailing 21-19 late in the first, the Huskies closed the quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 25-21 lead after 10 minutes of play.
The Huskies then outscored the Ducks, 26-18, in the second to take a 12-point lead into halftime, 51-39. Plum scored 15 in the frame, hitting all eight of her free throws attempted.
Oregon scored six straight to get to within single-digits early in the third quarter, 56-47 but back-to-back layups by Plum and Collier halted the run as the Huskies went on to outscore the Ducks, 21-16 and led 72-55 after three.
Washington went on to outscore the Ducks, 27-22, in the fourth and win their 11th consecutive game and improve to 2-0 in Pac-12 play.
Up next, the Huskies travel to Corvallis, Ore. to play No. 25 Oregon State on Sunday (Jan. 1) at noon PT. The game will air live on Pac-12 Networks.
