
No. 11 Washington Wraps Up Home Non-Conference Play Against Savannah State

SEATTLE -- The No. 11 University of Washington women's basketball team (10-1) wraps up its home non-conference schedule on Sunday (Dec. 18), hosting Savannah State (2-7) at 2 p.m. PT. The Huskies are undefeated at home this season (6-0).
Washington remains at No. 11 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, moving up six spots after starting the season ranked No. 17. Five other Pac-12 teams are also ranked: UCLA at No. 9, Stanford at No. 10, Colorado at No. 15, Arizona State at No. 23 and Oregon at No. 25. In the USA Today Coaches Poll, the Huskies are also No. 11.
Just 11 games into her senior season, senior Kelsey Plum broke the all-time Pac-12 scoring record against Boise State (Dec. 11). Plum, who now has 2,759 career points, scored 22 in the first half alone to tie the record before breaking it with a free throw early in the third quarter. She matched her season-high with 44 points, a new high at home. Plum also matched her career-high with nine rebounds to go along with four assists and five steals while going 9-of-9 from the foul line.
The Huskies are leading the nation in several categories this season including 123 made three-pointers. Washington is 123-of-303 from three-point range, hitting at a .406 clip and all 12 players who have played this season have hit at least one. The Huskies' 11.2 three-pointers per game ranks fourth while the team's 91.0 points per game is also fourth-most in the NCAA. Washington's 31.3 scoring margin ranks third.
Plum and senior Chantel Osahor are leading the nation in scoring and rebounding, respectively. Plum is averaging 31.0 points per game while Osahor is averaging 14.2 rebounds per game. Osahor's nine double-doubles this season also tops the NCAA. The pair were both named to the 2017 Naismith Watchlist while Plum was also named to the watch list for the Wade Trophy.
The Huskies, who have beaten its last seven opponents by at least a 26-point margin, have hit or gone over the century mark five times this season which ties a program record.
After becoming the all-time leading scorer in Pac-12 history, Plum was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week, while freshman Aarion McDonald earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, the Conference announced Monday (Dec. 12).
Plum and McDonald helped the team to a pair of wins last week, beating CSUN (101-44) and Boise State (92-66) to improve to 10-1 on the year. McDonald scored 23 against CSUN before tallying 21 points against Boise State.
