SEATTLE - No. 4/4 UW and No. 17/16 Arizona got through the fifth inning of game two of the series Friday before the rain caused a 61 minute rain delay. The game was eventually postponed and will be finished Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Saturday's scheduled game at noon.
UW took a 1-0 lead after the first as senior Nikia Williams walked (Mission Viejo, Calif.); fellow senior Kimi Pohlman (Sammamish, W ash.) hit an infield single and Williams scored on a fielder's choice by freshman Kimberlee Souza (Waialua, Hawai'i).
Lini Koria hit a solo home run to right field to lead off the fifth for Arizona, tying the game. Arizona took a 3-1 lead as sophomore Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.) fielded the third out, bobbled it and then threw it away at first as two unearned runs scored. Two more runs scored off another hit and a Husky error for a 5-3 Wildcat lead.
Williams and Inglesby walked in the Husky fifth and a single by Souza with one out loaded the bases for senior Taylor Smith (Olympia, Wash.). Smith drew a walk and got an RBI as Williams scored. Junior Shawna Wright (Lancaster, Calif.) got an RBI on a ground out for the third run.
The game was called in the top of the sixth with no outs.
