
Wildcats Take Series Opener, 2-0

SEATTLE - An early 2-0 lead by Arizona was enough as the No. 17/16 Wildcats held on for the series opening win against the No. 4/4 Huskies on Thursday night in Seattle. UW falls to 32-5 and 3-4 in the Pac-12 while Arizona picked up its 24th win and is also 3-4 in league play.
Each team had five hits. UW was led by senior Nikia Williams (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and sophomore Victoria Hayward (Mountain View, Calif.) with two each. Freshman Kimberlee Souza (Waialua, Hawai'i) had the fifth hit.
Sophomore Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.) allowed two runs in the complete game and had nine strikeouts. Shelby Babcock for Arizona also pitched the complete game with four strikeouts and eight walks.
Arizona scored both runs in the second as Shelby Pendley singled and scored on a double off the top of the wall to center by Kristen Arriola. Arrola would score on a single by Hallie Wilson.
Combined the two teams left 24 runners on base.
