
UCLA Clinches Series With 5-0 Victory

SEATTLE - Game two and the series featuring No. 7/8 UW and No. 16/17 UCLA went to the Bruins, 5-0 at Husky Softball Stadium Saturday afternoon.
UW falls to 34-9 on the year and 5-8 in conference play while UCLA improves to 29-11 and 5-6.
UW had four hits in the game, two each by freshman Kimberlee Souza (Waialua, Hawai'i) and senior Nikia Williams (Mission Viejo, Calif.).
The game-winner for UCLA was in the second as Dani Yudin hit a two run shot to center with one on against sophomore Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.).
Inglesby pitched 4.0 innings, allowing two runs on two hits with eight strikeouts. Sophomore Bryana Walker (La Quinta, Calif.) allowed three runs on four hits in 1.1 innings of relief and freshman Kasey Stanchek (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) allowed just one hit in 1.2 innings.
The third UCLA ran came off of Walker in the fifth. Stephany LaRosa singled and scored on a single to left by Samantha Camuso.
Yudin walked to lead off the sixth and Tara Mueller pinch ran. She would score on a single by Katie Schroeder. Talee Snow reached third after a double. A sacrifice fly to center by LaRosa drove in the final run.
Jessica Hall got the win in the circle, allowing just four hits while striking out 10 in the complete game shutout.
The final game of the series is Sunday at noon.
