Runs In First & Second Lift Huskies Over Utes

SEATTLE - Sophomores Hooch Fagaly and Kaitlin Inglesby each had two hits and three RBI as UW took game two and the series from Utah with a 6-1 win Saturday.
UW improves to 31-1 overall and 2-0 in the Pac-12 while Utah falls to 21-7, 0-2.
Utah struck first, scoring its lone run in the top of the first with two doubles off of freshman Kasey Stanchek (El Dorado Hills, Calif.). Stanchek pitched six scoreless innings after that, allowing just three total hits with seven strikeouts.
UW responded quickly to take the lead for good in the bottom of the inning. With the bases loaded for Inglesby (Portland, Ore.), she hit a two-RBI single through the left side of the infield. Fagaly (Chino, Calif.) followed with an RBI single to right.
Three more runs came for UW in the second as sophomore Victoria Hayward (Mountain View, Calif.) scored on a ground out by Inglesby and Fagaly hit a two-RBI single up the middle.
Naomi Amu was the starting pitcher for Utah, allowing all six runs in 2.0 innings. Mariah Ramirez pitched 4.0 scoreless innings in relief.
