Opening Statement
"It's really simple, I'm extremely proud of the girls. Our leadership showed, our freshmen stepped up, our togetherness, more than anything else, when they went on the run, our togetherness reigned above it all. So just really excited for the ladies, how they pulled it off, how they stuck together. This leader, here, pulled it all. There's a reason she was named one of our captains because she just brought it home for us. A little side note, for Mollie to hit one shot all day, what a shot. So, I'm just really proud of them."
On the final plays of the game
"I'm trying to remember, what did we run? It's all a blur. There was so much excitement. I just remember they were hugging this one big time [Kristi Kingma], couldn't get the ball inside to this one [Regina Rogers] and when we finally did, she kicks it out. Charmaine [Barlow] makes an extra pass to Mollie [Williams], that's really all I remember. So, it was a wide-open fifteen footer."
On whether she changed things between the first and second halves
"I didn't. Obviously I was looking for my shot, but as a point guard, I kind of feel like, even when [Sarah] Morton's on the court, I am kind of like a point guard because a lot of times I'm doing the directing and telling people where to go. It just happened that I got some good looks in the second half and it helped that Regina [Rogers] got hot because when they're doubling on her, I get more open. So, I think I was a little more vocal in the first half, especially trying to calm the freshmen down but, other than that, I wasn't necessarily looking for my shot."
"Coming out of halftime, I pulled the team together and was like `I'm going to give you guys 100% on every possession and, if you can guarantee me that you guys will do the same, we'll get a win. I'll make sure to find a way to get a win and I hit those two threes and then it just seemed like the basket kind of opened up. We got some good give-and-go's, we got Regina [Rogers] hitting some easy lay-in's and, after the game, I was just like `You guys pulled your own weight. I found a way to get the ball in the basket and you guys found a way to get a win'."
On their mentality during this game
"We always talk about in practice and before games that we have to have a short memory in basketball because things don't always go your way and, fortunately, in basketball, there's always other stuff you can do to help anything you're messing up on."
On today' great game
"I didn't know I had all that. If one thing isn't working for you, there's a lot else you can do to help out your team. So, that's pretty much what I focused on."
