Television
Football
The University of Washington enjoys extensive television coverage of its football games through the Pacific-10 Conference's agreements with Fox Sports Net, ESPN, ABC-TV and Versus. Specific games are selected to be a part of the league's television package in one of two ways: 1) During a preseason selection process that determines telecasts for the first few weeks of the season and selected noteworthy games during the season; and 2) Throughout the season the league makes television selections either six or 12 days in advance of each weekend of play. This process allows the league and its television partners with the flexibility to telecast the most attractive games each week.
In addition to the league package, UW and FSN Northwest have developed a partnership that allows the regional sports cable network exclusive rights to televise all available games that are not selected as part of the Pac-10 package, provided there is an available broadcast window.
Men's Basketball
The University of Washington enjoys extensive television coverage of its men's basketball games through the Pacific-10 Conference's agreements with Fox Sports Net, CBS-TV and ABC-TV. Specific games are selected to be a part of the league's television package in one of two ways: 1) During a preseason selection process that determines telecasts for the majority of the regular-season; and 2) A wildcard selection process that determines the telecasts for games in the final two weekends of the regular-season.
In addition to the league package, UW and FSN Northwest have developed a partnership that allows the regional sports cable network exclusive rights to televise all available games that are not selected as part of the Pac-10 package, provided there is an available broadcast window.
Women's Basketball
The University of Washington enjoys broad television coverage of its women's basketball games through the Pacific-10 Conference's agreements with Fox Sports Net. Specific games are selected to be a part of the league's television package during a preseason selection process that determines telecasts for the entire regular-season. Once the league and its television partners have selected games for its package, each institition is provided the opportunity to pursue local and regional television options for the remainder of the games on its schedule.
In addition to the league package, UW has developed partnerships with a variety of partners that provides additional women's basketball television appearances for games that are not selected as part of the Pac-10 package.
