SEATTLE - Kindra Carlson, a senior outside hitter from Eaton, Colo., became the first volleyball player this season to be named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance on opening weekend. Carlson led the No. 8 Huskies to two sweeps in the Invitational at Seattle. She posted 14 kills on 26 attempts with just one error (.500) while recording one service ace, five digs and two block assists in the season-opening win over Mercer. Then on Saturday, she also posted a team-high eight kills on 13 attempts with one error (.538). She had two assists, three service aces, six digs and one block assist vs. Eastern Washington. Other nominees include: Jorde LaFontaine-Kussman (women's soccer) and Dylan Tucker-Gangnes (men's soccer). |
