SEATTLE - Sophomore Krista Vansant of the Husky volleyball is the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 20-26.

The Redlands, Calif., native was named the Northwest Challenge Tournament MVP leading the No. 14 Huskies to a perfect 3-0 record with three sweeps on the weekend.

Against Boise State in the 2012 season opener on Friday night, Vansant had a team-high 12 kills on 25 attempts (.320) with one ace, 11 digs and four blocks.

In game one on Saturday against Gonzaga, she posted 14 kills on 27 attempts with no errors (.519) and had eight digs, four blocks and one assist.

In the final match vs. Portland, she had 11 kills, two aces, five digs and three blocks.

Other nominees include: Lindsay Elston (women's soccer) and Dylan Tucker-Gangnes (men's soccer).
