September 25, 1998

SEATTLE - Leslie Tuiasosopo posted career highs in kills and blocks and notched her first career triple-double to lead Washington to a 3-2 win over Washington State Friday night at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. Game scores were 11-15, 17-15, 10-15, 15-0, 15-9.

Tuiasosopo smashed her career high for kills with 31, breaking her previous mark of 22, set earlier this year. She also had 13 blocks, two short of the Husky school record, and 11 digs to score the triple double. Kristina Laffling chipped in with 18 kills and 19 digs.

The win was the Huskies' first in conference as the UW improved to 2-5 overall, 1-2 in the Pac-10. The Cougars dropped to 4-5, 1-2.

Jennifer Stinson led WSU with 22 kills and a steady .390 hitting percentage. Wendy Rouse had 15 kills and 15 digs for the Cougars.

The Cougars led by a two games to one margin before the Huskies posted a 15-0 score in game four, finishing the game on only 19 serves. Washington hit .750 with no errors in the game while WSU made 10 errors for a -.389 mark. It was the Huskies' first shutout since 1995, when they pulled the trick on Arizona State.
