Volleyball Falls to No. 21 Arizona, 3-1
September 20, 1998 SEATTLE - The 21st-ranked Arizona volleyball team ran its season record to 10-0 Sunday with a 3-1 win over Washington at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. Game scores were 5-15, 15-13, 15-8, 15-11. Neither team had a good afternoon, hitting-wise. The victorious Wildcats (10-0 overall, 2-0 Pac-10) hit only .150 for the match while Washington (1-5, 0-2) was held to a .047 mark. Washington got 15 kills and a match-high nine digs from Kristina Laffling, who managed to hit a respectable .273. Allison Napier led Arizona with 19 kills and eight blocks while Marisa DaLee hit .615 with nine kills and nine blocks. Arizona out-blocked the Huskies as a team, 17-15, the first time in six matches this season that the Huskies have been out-blocked. In game one Sunday, the Dawgs got eight blocks to the Wildcats' two. Washington hit .211 in that game and then never better .097 in any game after that. The Huskies complete their five-match homestand next Friday when they take on Washington State.
