SEATTLE - Women's tennis head coach Jill Hultquist announced the addition of one of the top junior tennis players in Canada to the Husky program on Friday. Elianne Douglas-Miron, a native of Ottawa, will join Washington beginning in 2012-13.

"I am very excited about signing Elianne," says Hultquist. "She is a very successful and talented Canadian junior tennis player. She is a hard worker and possesses a great all-around game."

Douglas-Miron trains at the National Training Centre in Montreal. She has ranked as high as 133rd in the International Tennis Federation combined junior rankings. In April of this year she advanced to the finals of the All Canadian ITF Junior Championships in both singles and doubles.

She has extensive experience at junior tournaments all around the world. Douglas-Miron competed in the 2010 Australian Open junior singles and doubles draw, and won junior doubles titles at the 2009 Prince Cup, the 2009 Yucatan World Cup and the 2009 Panama Bowl. She also represented Canada in the junior Fed Cup in 2009 in Mexico.
