PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Washington women's tennis team will compete in the ITA Northwest Region Championships this weekend at the Taube Family Tennis Center at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. The tounament, which begins Thursday at 8 a.m. and runs through Sunday, includes a 128-draw singles bracket and 64-draw doubles bracket.

Senior Kristina Kraszewski, ranked fourth in the nation, is seeded second in the tournament and opens with a bye. Also competing for UW in singles are fresmen Kristen Auten, Claire Carter, Erin Hoe and Anna Pearson, sophomores Amy Allen, Kathy Chi, Andrea Coulter, and Darija Klaic, and junior Ilona Kordonskaya, who is ranked No. 86 in the nation. Allen and Kordonskaya also drew first round byes.

In doubles, No. 33 Kraszewski/Klaic have a first-round bye. Allen/Auten, sophomore Colleen Gray/Carter, Chi/Hoe, and Coulter/Kordonskaya will also be competing.
