SEATTLE - For the second straight week the Husky women's tennis team is Bay Area bound, following up the season-opening St. Mary's Invite with this weekend's ITA Northwest Regionals hosted by Stanford at the Taube Tennis Center. One of the premiere tournaments of the fall season, Regionals assembles the largest fields UW will face in individual play this year.

Twelve ITA Regional tourneys are being held around the country this weekend, with the individual singles and doubles winners from each site advancing to the ITA National Indoor Championships next month in Flushing Meadows, New York. The Northwest Region features D-I teams from Washington, Oregon, and Northern California. Highlighting the field are full squads from Pac-12 rivals Stanford, California, Oregon, and Washington State.

Seven Huskies will be competing in singles play. Freshman Grace Ysidora is seeded 16th overall; she and junior Andjela Nemcevic will have first round byes. Also in the singles draw are sophomores Natali Coronel, Capucine Gregoire, and Julija Lukac, and freshmen Elianne Douglas-Miron and Brianna Kemp. Last week at St. Mary's, Ysidora and Lukac each won their respective back draws, and Kemp reached the finals of the third singles bracket.

Competing in doubles for the Dawgs will be the rookie combo of Ysidora and Douglas-Miron, seeded seventh, as well as the tandems of Gregoire and Kemp, Lukac and Coronel, and Nemcevic teaming with sophomore Riko Shimizu.

Go Huskies!
