SEATTLE - The final singles and doubles rankings for the 2011-12 season were tallied up and released today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Assocation, with Husky senior Denise Dy remaining in the Top-25 in her final appearance in the poll. Dy wound up ranked 22nd in the final poll and the Huskies as a team finished 49th nationally.

The only disappointment for Dy is that she fell two rankings spots short of earning ITA All-America honors in singles for the third straight year. Players ranked in the final Top-20 earn the distinction. Still, Dy maintained a Top-25 ranking all year despite missing several matches due to a wrist injury that hurt her level of play when she did try to compete. Nevertheless, Dy capped off a streak of Top-25 rankings that stretches all the way back to January of 2010, her sophomore season.

Her final match came in the second round of the NCAA Singles Championships last month, where she fell to Stanford's Mallory Burdette, who went on to reach the finals and finished fourth in the final poll.

The final Northwest Region singles rankings were also released today, with Dy ranked fifth, and freshman Julija Lukac ranked 19th. Lukac led the Huskies this year with a 10-5 dual singles record, and her 15 wins were second to Dy's 17.

Go Huskies!
