Huskies Continue Play At ITA Northwest Regionals

STANFORD, Calif. -- The Husky women's tennis teams continued play from the ITA Northwest Regionals at the Taube Tennis Center on the campus of Stanford University.
Both Washington doubles teams fell in the Round of 16 on Sunday. First, the team of Capucine Gregoire and Brianna Kemp lost to Megan Heneghan and Layla Sanders of UC Davis, 8-5. Later, Andjela Nemcevic and Riko Shimizu fell to sixth-seeded Tayler Davis and Annie Goransson of California, 8-3.
Washington also continued play in the consolation round of singles. Ellie Edles of UC Davis knocked off Kemp, 6-0, 6-2. In addition, Grace Ysidora fell to Sabastiani Leon Chao, 6-1, 3-6, 1-0.
Also, falling in the consolation rounds of singles were Nemcevic who lost a three-set match 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 to Kelly Chui of California and Natali Coronel who fell to Melissa McQueen of Fresno State, 6-3, 6-3.
Finally, Julija Lukac fell to Cecilia Estlander of California, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0, while Gregoire withdrew from her singles match.
