Women's Tennis Blanks Oregon, 6-0

April 7, 1999

EUGENE, Ore.- The 27th-ranked Washington womens tennis team stopped a four-match skid and tallied their first Pac-10 victory of the season today with a shut-out over Oregon (10-8 overall, 0-6 in the Pac-10). The Huskies avenged an earlier loss in Seattle by losing only one set in all six singles matches at the 15th Street Courts. This win improves the Huskies record to 10-7 (1-5 in the Pac-10).

The best match of the day was at the No.1 singles position, where Washingtons 15th-ranked Kristina Kraszewski recorded the three-set victory over Oregons Alina Wygonowska, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2. Wygonowska had defeated Kraszewski earlier this season. This win improves Kraszewskis overall record to 21-8.

The Huskies will stay in Eugene this weekend to face two more Pac-10 foes. The Huskies meet UCLA on Friday, Apr.9, at 1:30 pm and USC on Saturday, Apr. 10, at noon.
