Washington Sweeps Idaho in Women's Tennis

SEATTLE - The 42nd-ranked Washington women's tennis team needed just two hours and five minutes to sweep Idaho on Saturday, 9-0. The Huskies, which did not drop a set during the match, improve to 2-0 on the season.

Junior Peggy Wu downed Katrina Burke at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-0, while freshman Ilona Kordonskaya topped Zeljka Vidic, 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 slot. At No. 3, junior Zuzana Stunova defeated Pooja Deshmukh, 6-2, 6-1, and junior Zeta Wagner blanked Barbara Perez-Martinez, 6-0, 6-0, in the fourth spot. Junior Jenny Svanfeldt stopped Gloriana Servano, 6-2, 6-0, in the No. 5 position, and senior Lara Botts beat Cameron Erickson, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 6

In doubles, Wu/Stunova downed Burke Vidic, 8-3, at No. 1; Svanfeldt/Wagner stopped Martinez/Erickson, 8-3; and Kordonskaya/Hannesdottir blanked Servano/Deshmukh, 8-0.
