SEATTLE -Two current Huskies and one future Husky will soon have the opportunity of a lifetime, one they have been waiting for, for months - competing in the International Softball Federation IX Jr. Women's World Championship in Cape Town, South Africa. Sophomore Victoria Hayward and future Husky Jocelyn Cater will compete for Team Canada and freshman Kylee Lahners will play for Team USA. The 19-and-under competition runs from Dec. 7 through Dec. 17.

The opening and closing ceremonies as well as all games played on Field 1 will be streamed for free on the official tournament website, http://jwwc2011.co.za. On the first two and last two days of competition, including Dec. 8 when Team USA and Team Canada compete for the first time, full seven-camera broadcasts will be done via the website, with a single camera being used on the days in between.

Fans will also be able to keep up with the action with "Live Score" text updates, available for all 66 games. It will be updated at the end of each half inning, along with a scoreboard for that particular game, all of which will be archived. This can be accessed on the game schedule page on the tournament website. Team and Championship statistics will also be published and updated at the end of each competition day.

Sixteen teams will participate in the 10 day competition including Argentina, Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Russia, South Africa, USA, and Zimbabwe. Team USA emerged victorious at the last junior women's world championship, unseating two-time defending champions, Japan.
