SEATTLE - Washington's No. 1 billing for the past 13 weeks held up with the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, as the Huskies (57-7) were the No. 1 seed in the 2000 NCAA Tournament and will host Region No. 1. Joining UW at Husky Softball Stadium in the double-elimination tournament Thursday through Sunday will be, in order of seeding, Mississippi State (42-25), Utah (39-21), Western Illinois (46-14), UT-Chattanooga (46-25) and Army (27-16).

The Huskies will be hosting their fourth regional tournament in the past five years, also doing so in 1996, 1998 and 1999. UW has not lost a regional game since 1995 and is vying for its fifth straight trip to the College World Series May 25-29 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Game times on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. On Sunday, the first game will be at 1 p.m. and the second, if necessary, will be at 3:30 p.m. Fox Sports Northwest will be televising the championship game on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. The 1 p.m. game will be tape-delayed if it proves to be the final.

Thursday, May 18
10 a.m. Game 1:
No. 3 Utah (39-21) vs. No. 4 Western Illinois (46-14)

12:30 p.m. Game 2:
No. 2 Mississippi State (42-25) vs. No. 5 Tennessee-Chattanooga (46-25)

3 p.m. Game 1:
No. 1 Washington (57-7) vs. No. 6 Army (27-16)

Friday, May 19
10 a.m. Game 4: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2
12:30 p.m. Game 5: Winner Game 1 vs. Loser Game 3
3 p.m. Game 6: Winner Game 2 vs. Winner Game 3

The bracket on Saturday and Sunday will be determined on Friday based on the number of teams still alive.
