Weekly Release Get Acrobat Reader

SEATTLE - No. 3/3 UW is 8-1 vs. teams ranked and receiving votes this year but will have a true test on its hands at No. 1/1 Cal this weekend. UW will play three afternoon games, one each on Friday-Sunday against the Golden Bears.

Scouting No. 1/1 Cal
Cal is No. 1 in both top 25 polls this week after sweeping Stanford to open Pac-12 play and a 8-0 five-inning non-conference victory over Sacramento State on Wednesday. Cal is 30-1 overall and 3-0 at home. They are led by Jamia Reid hitting .456 with 47 hits and 25 stolen bases. Valerie Arioto returns after being injured a year ago, batting .443 with 14 home runs, 43 RBI and 41 walks. Arioto is also the leading pitcher, with a 14-0 record, 0.86 ERA, five shutouts and just 10 earned runs. Jolene Henderson is 16-1 with a 0.91 ERA, seven shutouts and 136 strikeouts in 108.0 innings. Cal leads the all-time series, 37-31 but UW won two of three last season in Seattle.

First-Ever Pac-12 Series Goes To UW
In the first-ever Pac-12 series, UW swept newcomer Utah, 3-0, with wins of 5-1, 6-1 and 3-1. Kaitlin Inglesby led the team at the plate batting .667 with six hits, one double, two home runs, eight RBI and a1.444 slugging percentage. In the circle, Kasey Stanchek went 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA and nine strikeouts in 11.0 innings, allowing just one earned run.

Inglesby Named Pac-12/National Player Of The Week
Husky sophomore p/dp, Kaitlin Inglesby, earned her first Pac-12 and ESPN Softball Collegiate Player of the Week honor for her play in the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. She helped the Huskies to a 4-0 record and a five-inning run rule victory over then-No. 24/25 DePaul. She led the team with a .692 average, four runs, nine hits, three doubles, a home run, nine RBI, a 1.154 slugging percentage, no strikeouts, a .692 on base percentage and a perfect fielding percentage. She also went 2-0 in the circle with a save.

Huskies Sweep DH At CSUB
UW improved to 29-1 on the year with a doubleheader sweep at Cal State Bakersfield on Monday. UW won by games in five-innings, 12-0 and 15-4. Sophomore Bryana Walker got the win in game one while Inglesby got the win in game two. Freshman Kylee Lahners led UW in the series hitting .800 with three runs, four hits, two doubles, four RBI and a 1.200 slugging percentage. Freshman Kasey Stanchek pitched 3.0 scoreless innings in relief, allowing just one hit.

UW Goes 4-0 at Judi Garman Classic
UW went a perfect 4-0 in the final pre-season tournament in Fullerton, Calif. Saturday's game vs. No. 7/7 Oklahoma got rained out, but UW had two wins on Thursday vs. UC Davis and Iowa then dropped Notre Dame and No. 24/25 DePaul on Friday.

Coach Tarr Milestones
Head coach Heather Tarr picked up her 200th career victory with a win over San Diego State in 2010 and picked up win No. 250 at the Aztecs' home field over Northwestern in 2011. In the first game of the Husky Softball Classic this season with a win over Seattle U, Tarr picked up her 300th career victory.
