Pac-12 Play Begins In The Desert For No. 17 UW

SEATTLE -March Madness has begun. And in the collegiate softball world that means the start of conference play across the country. The Pac-12 season gets underway for the No. 17/17 Huskies as they head to the desert to face No. 16/22 Arizona, Saturday-Monday. For the first time this season, Husky fans will get to watch the softball team live on the Pac-12 Networks at 7 p.m. on Monday. Saturday's game at 6 p.m. and Sunday's at 2 p.m. will have live stats and video. Washington finished the non-conference season with a 22-7 record after going 3-2 last week at the Judi Garman Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton. Arizona was also in the tournament, going 2-3 with losses to Virginia Tech, Michigan and Oklahoma. The Wildcats are 20-8 entering league play and a perfect 13-0 at home. In the pre-season coaches poll, Washington was selected fourth and Arizona was fifth. In the 2012 final standings, Arizona was fourth and the UW finished eighth. Arizona leads the all-time series 61-24. Washington won the last meeting on April 7, 2012 in Seattle, 7-5. |
