March 8, 2000 SEATTLE - Jenny Topping was named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week last week after the NFCA Leadoff Classic. She won the tournament's "triple crown," leading the Classic in batting average (.667 on 10-for-15), home runs (five) and RBI (12). Topping's solo home run was the difference in UW's 1-0 win over No. 8 Fresno State in the title game. Topping is the second consecutive Husky to earn the award, following freshman Jaime Clark from last week. |
