SEATTLE -Up to No. 18/18 in this week's national polls, the UW softball team will play in Seattle for the first time in 2013, although not a home, at Seattle U for a single game on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the newly renovated Logan Field at Seattle University Park.

The Huskies moved up four spots in both polls after a 4-0 weekend at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, Calif., and improved their record to 10-5 on the year.

Washington leads the overalls series 8-0 and has never played a road game at Seattle U. All eight previous meetings have been at Husky Softball Stadium.

The first meeting between the two was in 2009 and last year the Huskies swept the series, 8-0 and 4-0.

Seattle U is 7-5 overall and a perfect 2-0 at home on the year. Brittney Lott leads the team at the plate with a .538 average, 14 hits and five doubles. Isabella Geronimo is right behind her with a .412 average, 14 hits, one triple and 10 RBI.

In the circle, three pitchers have split time for the Redhawks with Richelle Ashburn posting a team-best 2.97 ERA and 4-2 record in 37.2 innings. Jessica Ulrich is 2-2 and Mandie Sugita is 1-1.

The Huskies will head to Colorado State over the weekend for a tournament. A preview will be posted later in the week.

Please note a schedule change as the Huskies have added a home game to their schedule. March 6 at 5 p.m. the UW will host Ohio in a single game. Check www.gohuskies.com for ticket information.

Go Huskies!
