This evening the Dawgs arrived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for our third tournament of the season. So far the season has gotten off to an exciting start after traveling to Las Vegas and Phoenix. Although we have taken some losses, we have a lot of new people playing in new positions and there is a sense of great potential within the team right now. I think everyone is just anxious and excited to get back on the field so we can keep competing and progressing.
So far today has been an interesting travel day. Our flight was slightly delayed so we got in a bit late. We arrived to our charter bus to be greeted with some "Soul Train" music, so it was only natural that everyone had to dance to their seat. This trip we are staying in downtown Albuquerque which is pretty cool because most of us have never been here before. Even though we don't have much time to see the city, it is still neat to get to go to new places and see new things.
Tomorrow is a big day for us. We start the weekend with Texas Tech and Missouri, both solid teams. Our focus this weekend is to compete every pitch! There are few things you can control in the game of softball but one thing you can control is your attitude and energy level for each pitch. We feel if we can emotionally stay focused for every pitch and all 21 outs then we will be a tough team to beat. Hopefully you can catch us on game tracker or listen to us on GoHuskies.com this weekend and thank you for supporting Husky Softball! Go Dawgs!
