Huskies 16th In ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 Poll

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Washington Husky softball team earned another top 25 preseason ranking being ranked No. 16 in the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America and USA Softball. The Pac-12 and SEC lead the way with seven teams ranked in the pre-season Top 25, while the Big 12 boasts four squads in the first poll. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Big East have two teams representing their conferences, while the Big 10 Conference, Big West Conference, Colonial Athletic Association and Sun Belt Conference each had one team among the Top 25. The Huskies will face three of the top five teams in the poll, Oklahoma, Cal and Arizona State. Other ranked opponents on the UW's schedule include: Oregon, Georgia, Texas, Michigan, Arizona, UCLA, Stanford, Florida State and Hawai'i. Washington's first ranked opponent will be on opening weekend at No. 25 Hawai'i as a part of the Paradise Softball Classic in Honolulu on Feb. 8. The Huskies were also ranked 16th in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Preseason Poll last week. |
