Game One Vs. No. 1 ASU Suspended, Will Resume At 2 p.m. Saturday

May 6, 2011

SEATTLE - The No. 13 Huskies and No. 1 Sun Devils battled the rain for two hours but were unable to get an official game in because of the field conditions. The game was suspended after four innings tied at 4-4.

The game will resume at 2 p.m. on Saturday, followed by game two approximately 30 minutes after.

Stats will not be posted since the game is not official but below is a small recap of what happened in the first four innings.

Washington took a 1-0 lead in the first as junior Kimi Pohlman (Sammamish, Wash.) scored on a double to right by freshman Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.). Inglesby was the starting pitcher.

Freshman left fielder Victoria Hayward (Mountain View, Calif.) made a great throw from left field to throw out the tying run at home.

Sophomore Shawna Wright led off the second with a walk. After a single to center by junior Jenna Clifton (Glendale, Ariz.), Pohlman hit a two-RBI single for a 3-0 UW lead.

ASU got a run in the top of the third with one out and a two-RBI single to right tied the game.

Junior Niki Williams (Mission Viejo, Calif.) led off the third with a solo home run to right field, her 13th of the season (unofficially) as UW went up 4-3.

With two outs in the fourth, an error on Williams allowed the tying run to score.

The conclusion of game one and game two on Saturday can both be heard live on 1150 AM KKNW and follow via live stats and video at www.gohuskies.com.

Go Huskies!
