Deines Named To All-Pacific Region

SEATTLE –Senior women’s soccer player Kate Deines (Issaquah, Wash.) was named to the NSCAA All-Pacific Region First-Team on Wednesday. This is the fourth such honor for Deines who also earned first-team honors last year and was a second-team selection her freshman and sophomore years. Deines earned All-Pac-12 Second-Team academic honors this season, honorable mention in 2009 and was also a second-team selection last year. She carries a 3.73 GPA in communication and is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. She was a Lowe's Senior CLASS Award candidate in 2011 and earned the 101 Club Scholar-Athlete award at the team banquet. In 2010 she earned the Provost Academic Excellence Award at the WESPYs, was a NSCAA Scholar All-West Region and Second-Team NSCAA Scholar All-American. She earned Second-Team All-Pac-12 honors this year and earned her third-straight conference honor after being named to the second-team in 2009 and to the first-team last year. She played in 18 games this season, scoring two goals and dishing out two assists. She was one-for-one on penalty kicks. She was a team captain for the second-straight year and prior to the season was named a Lowe's Senior CLASS Award candidate and to the Hermann Trophy Award Watch List.
