SEATTLE - Men's soccer senior forward Brent Richards (Camas, Wash.) and women's soccer seniors Kate Deines (Issaquah, Wash.) and Alex Webber (Poway, Calif.) earned yet another academic honor to their list of achievements, being named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selections for District VIII.

Richards was one of 11 Division I players selected from his district to the team and one of three forwards. He will now move on to the national ballot. Five of the district honorees were from the Pac-12.

He maintains a 3.73 GPA as an extended pre-major. In 2010, he also earned First-Team Pac-10 All-Academic Honors and NSCAA Scholar-All American and All-Region honors.

As a sophomore in 2009, he was a First-Team All-Pac-10 Academic select and an ESPN All-District VIII First-Team selection.

Richards leads the Huskies with 10 goals this season and 25 points. UW will play its final regular season game on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. vs. Oregon State. It will be senior night for Richards and six other Huskies.

Deines and Webber were two of the 22 females selected in their Division, both earning Second-Team honors, Deines at midfield and Webber at forward. Deines maintains a 3.73 GPA in communications and Webber a 3.39 in biology.

A total of 10 out of the 22 women's Division I honorees in District VIII were from the Pac-12.

Deines and Webber played in their final game as Huskies on Thursday vs. WSU on national TV. They ended their careers being part of one of the best teams in school history in 2010.

Last year, Deines earned the Provost Academic Excellence Award at the WESPYs and Second-Team Pac-10 All-Academic and NSCAA Scholar Second-Team All-American.

This is the first national academic honor for Webber who earned Honorable Mention Pac-10 All-Academic honors in 2009 & 2010.
