Hope Solo Jives In Week Two

Sept. 26, 2011

SEATTLE - Washington's own Hope Solo made it through to week two, dancing the Viennese Waltz to Dave Matthews Band `Satellite' with her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The pair earned a score of 21, allowing them to compete for the disco ball another week.

The dancing duo will be performing the Jive this week, a dance which has proven difficult for Maks and his partners in seasons past.

NBA star Ron Artest was the first celebrity to get booted off the show after receiving a score of 14 for his rendition of the cha cha. Viewers can follow the action along on Twitter with #maksolo and wish "the soccer superstar" and "the bad boy of the ballroom" the best of luck.

To vote for "Team Hope and Maksim," fans can call the toll-free number 1-800-868-3408, text "VOTE" to the same number (for AT&T customers only), or go on-line to abc.com and register to vote. The phone and text number will remain the same throughout the season. Fans can start voting multiple times during and immediately after each performance show. Phone and text lines will stay open until 30 minutes after the end of the show. Online voting will continue to be open until 8 a.m. PT the following day, when the DWTS Results Show will air (Tuesdays at 8/7C) and the couple with the lowest combined score from judges and viewer votes will be eliminated from the competition.

Go Huskies!
