Sept. 25, 2012
SEATTLE - For the fourth-straight week the UW women's soccer team will battle teams on the road, facing Colorado on Friday and Utah on Sunday in Pac-12 play. Friday's match will air live on the Pac-12 Networks at 2 p.m. PT. Washington is 7-2-1 on the year and 0-1-1 in Pac-12 play, dropping last weekend's conference opener at USC, 1-0 in overtime. The Huskies will head to Colorado for the first time in school history. The Buffs and Huskies met last year for the first time with Colorado joining the Pac-12. The UW prevailed in that match, 2-1. Colorado is 6-1-3 on the year and a perfect 3-0 in home matches. The Buffs and Ducks tied last week in Eugene, Ore., after 110 minutes in their Pac-12 opener. Anne Stuller leads the team with seven goals while Hayley Hughes and Madison Krauser have two each. In the net, Annie Brunner has played in all 10 games making 34 saves and allowing just eight goals. Utah is 5-2-2 this season and dropped its Pac-12 opener at Oregon State last week, 2-0. Leading the Utes with seven points is Katie Taylor (two goals, three assists). Four different players have two goals each. Lindsey Luke is 4-1-2 in goal, having allowed just five goals and making 27 saves. In last year's Pac-12 match, the Huskies defeated Utah 4-0 in Seattle. However, the UW is 2-3-0 all-time against the Utes and winless in Salt Lake City.
