Huskies Head To GU, Host Notre Dame
SEATTLE - The Huskies have a split week, heading to Spokane, Wash., on Friday for a 4 p.m. game vs. Gonzaga and then returning to Seattle for a noon game on Sunday vs. Notre Dame. Washington will be the first team in the Pac-12 to stream an event live with the new Pac-12 Networks as the Huskies will show the Notre Dame live from Husky Soccer Field. Sebastian Moraga will be calling the game live and the stream will be free for all fans. The Huskies are ranked for the first time this season, at No. 22 by Soccer America and receiving votes in the NSCAA Top 25 poll. Lindsay Elston was the first Husky to be named Pac-12 Player of the Week for her role in Washington's wins over La Salle and Fresno State. She is just the second player in school history, behind Veronica Perez, to score points in each of the first five games of the season. Gonzaga is 5-1 on the year and 2-0 at home. They have wins over South Dakota, Idaho, Boise State, Austin Peay and Vanderbilt. Their lone loss is to Washington State. Sila Tuiofea has a team-best two goals and two assist. Emma Dolcetti and Kasey Rubosky have two goals each and Tori Lee has a team-high three assists. The Fighting Irish are 3-2 on the year with wins over Tulsa, East Carolina and No. 16 Santa Clara. Their two losses were against Wisconsin and No. 19 North Carolina. Notre Dame will take on Portland Friday before heading north to Seattle.
