SEATTLE - Washington midfielder Lindsay Elston was named the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of August 27- September 2, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

Elston, a junior from Sammamish, Wash., scored a pair of goals, including a game-winner, and added two assists in wins over LaSalle and Fresno State to earn Pac-12 Player of the Week honors.

In the Huskies' home-opener on Friday, she scored the go ahead goal in the fourth minute and assisted on an insurance goal in the 82nd minute to help secure a 2-0 win over La Salle.

Elston added a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory over Fresno State on Sunday. She has recorded points in all five of Washington's games this season. This is the first weekly honor for Elston, who is Washington's 17th all-time Player of the Week.

College Sports Madness named Elston the National Offensive Player of the Week and Pac-12 Player of the Week.

Junior Stine Schoening, the Husky/Nike Invitational Defensive MVP, was named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday. Tuesday, she was named one of the Primetime Performers of the Week by College Soccer 360.

The Washington women's soccer team also jumped into the national rankings for the first time in 2012. The Huskies are receiving votes in the NSCAA poll for the second-straight week and No. 22 by Soccer America.
