SEATTLE - Women's soccer junior Stine Schoening has been named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 27-Sept. 2. The defender from Woodinville, Wash., helped lead the Huskies to a 2-0 record in the Husky/Nike Invitational on the weekend and was named Defensive MVP for her efforts. UW defeated La Salle, 2-0 in the opening game in which Schoening helped the Husky back line to the shutout. Washington defeated Fresno State on Sunday 3-1. Schoening played all 90 minutes of each game. Washington is 5-0 on the season and currently No. 22 in the Soccer America top 25 poll. Other nominees include: Krista Vansant (volleyball), Dylan Tucker-Gangnes (men's soccer) and Desmond Trufant (football). 2012-13 GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week: |
