SEATTLE – After a 1-0 victory in the season-opener at Seattle U last weekend, the Huskies will head to Colgate and Syracuse for the first-time ever for returns trips.

UW has played each of these teams just once, as they both came to UW in previous seasons to play in the Husky/Nike Invitational.

Junior Lindsay Elston (Sammamish, Wash.) and sophomore Chelsea Archer (Oakland, Calif.) netted goals in the 2012 opener as the Husky defense was solid in the shutout.

Several newcomers got playing time last week and will look to contribute on this road trip. Freshman Isabel Farrell had an assist in her collegiate debut. Fellow classmates Allyson Brahs and Falon Miller also made their UW debuts.

Head coach Lesle Gallimore is in her 19th season and just 11 wins away from 200 in her career. The Huskies were picked fifth by the Pac-12 coaches in the pre-season poll.

UW will have a big test at home early as the Huskies will host Notre Dame on Sept. 9.

Associate head coach Amy Griffin is not with the team this week. She is overseas with the U-20 national team coaching the goalkeepers.

Go Huskies!
