SCOUTING UMASS
The match with the Huskies will be the first of the 2010 season for the Minutewomen. UMass is led by first-year head coach Ed Matz. He was the 2009 CAA Coach of the Year at Northeastern. SCOUTING BOSTON
Boston is 0-2 after dropping two one-goal games to nationally ranked opponents. The Terriers fell 1-0 to No. 12 South Carolina to open the season and then 2-1 to No. 2 Stanford. They will host American on Friday before the Huskies get into town. Senior transfer Lisa Kevorkian scored the lone goal for BU against Stanford and leads the team with four shots. Corie Halasz had the assist on the goal. In their two games so far, the Terriers have fired 17 shots and seven on goal. Alice Binns has seven saves to lead the goalkeepers. JOSWICK RETURNS WITH A BANG
Redshirt senior Kellye Joswick couldn't have scripted her return to the field any better. She scored the lone goal in the 78th minute as the Huskies defeated Seattle University, 1-0 to open the season. Joswick missed all of 2009 after a season-ending ACL tear in the fourth minute of the season-opener vs. Seattle. After working hard in the offseason to get back to the field, she got the start and took a ball from Sarah Martinez to the far post for the goal.

Junior goalkeeper Kari Davidson recorded the shutout and one save vs. Seattle U in the season opener. It was her eighth career shutout in goal and 20th victory. After just two season, Davidson ranks amongst the top keepers in school history. She is fourth all-time in GAA (1.22), sixth in saves (98) and sixth in shutouts (eight).
FRESHMEN EXPERIENCE
Three freshmen got the start in their first collegiate game at Seattle U on Aug. 20. Lindsey Bos, Brianna Sweeney and Lindsay Elston were the starters and freshmen Allie Beahan and Annie Sittauer came off the bench. Beahan recorded a shot on goal.
