SEATTLE - With the addition of some new players to the Sounders Women's team, the UW women's soccer team has announced a schedule change for the spring season and will now play the Sounders on May 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila, Wash.

"We have agreed to make this change in our spring game in order to accommodate the U.S. Women's National Team players, including Husky Alum Hope Solo, who will be playing a limited number of games for the Sounders before the London Olympic Games," said head coach Lesle Gallimore. "Clearly this is an outstanding opportunity for our players to play against the best of the best. It will be a great community event and we urge people to get their tickets early as it is sure to sell out."

With the announcement that the Women's Professional Soccer League (WPS) will not play this season, many of the professional players have signed with other semi-pro teams, including the Sounders.

The Sounders have signed former Husky Hope Solo, former Cal great Alex Morgan and U.S. Olympian and former UCLA Bruin Sydney Leroux.

Go Huskies!
